So, you’re officially a newlywed – congratulations! You’ve said your vows, danced the night away, and maybe even jetted off on a dreamy honeymoon. But now, reality kicks in, and there’s one big decision ahead: are you changing your name?
If you’ve decided to take your partner’s surname (or go double-barrelled – fancy!), there are quite a few places you’ll need to update your details. But don’t panic – I’ve put together a handy checklist to
make the whole process as smooth (and stress-free) as possible. So grab a cuppa, and let’s get ticking! ✅
First Things First – Get Your Marriage Certificate
Before you can start changing your name, you’ll need your official marriage certificate. Most places will ask for a copy (or even the original), so it’s worth ordering a few extra certified copies just in case.
