Winter Wedding at The Shireburn Arms

I love a winter wedding, and a December wedding at The Shireburn Arms is certainly up there with my favorites!

Just after Christmas 2021 I had the great please of photographing my good friends Amy & Brents wedding at the Shireburn Arms in Hurst Green. I’ve walked around Hurst Green doing the Tolkien Trail a few times always finishing with a lunch or a beer at the Shireburn and I love it! it’s so cozy and welcoming with amazing views over the Ribble Valley.

I joined the bridal prep at the family home before heading over to the venue to get some time with the groom and best man. Both the bride and groom were really relaxed and having fun all morning. The best man was definitely the most nervous one in the morning!

The ceremony in the Shireburn Arms is help in a beautiful intimate room with a big window overlooking the amazing countryside of the Ribble Valley. Despite it being a December wedding the weather was glorious with the sun shining giving amazing light into the room.

After the ceremony we had a chance to get the group shots one on the terrace at the back of the venue which allows easy access and as it’s close makes it easy to round everyone up!

With the views out from the grounds around the Shireburn Arms there’s always a good spot for the couple photos. Having a quick 20 min shoot outside was more than enough to get exactly what the newlyweds wanted…and was quick enough to not freeze in the winter sun!

The amazing cakes made by the fabulous LouLou meringues were unbelievable! With 2 big cakes, macrons, brownies and millionaire shortbread its safe to say everyone was very full!

With a nephew performing during the evening and the amazing games room downstairs there was plenty of fun during the evening. Despite the pool tables, dart board and foosball downstairs the bride managed to get a first dance with the groom!

It really was an amazing day with a fantastic couple and I really was honored to be able to capture their big day.
